The League Where Team Spirit Powers Progress
Our Aim
To create a modern and inspiring competitive environment for British Gymnastics Clubs — one that bridges the broad gap between Recreational and Elite gymnastics, promotes development, integrity, and enjoyment while building a sustainable future for the sport.

Core Values
1. Integrity
We are committed to fair, transparent judging and competition processes that uphold the highest standards of the sport.
2. Opportunity
We provide a platform where gymnasts of all backgrounds and club sizes can earn the chance to compete and represent their team. The format allows more gymnasts to participate across the season, helping to broaden access while maintaining high standards.
3. Development
We focus on skill progression, personal bests, and long-term growth through league tables, medals and rankings.
4. Community
We believe in working together. The league is built on shared responsibility, collaboration, commitment and respect between clubs, coaches, gymnasts, and families.
5. Simplicity
We value clear structures, consistent routines, and straightforward rules to make participation and judging easy for everyone involved.
6. Innovation
We embrace digital tools, fresh ideas, and a forward-thinking format to bring gymnastics into the 21st century and keep it relevant to today's young athletes.
7. Enjoyment
Above all, the National Gymnastics League is designed to be fun. Our events are engaging, positive, and rewarding for every gymnast.
8. Inclusivity
To reflect the International Olympic Commitee’’s decision we propose a number of mixed team events over the event calendar.
Why we need the league!
We need to change the way people perceive General Gymnastics if we want to attract and retain more gymnasts. The National Gymnastics League helps General Gymnastics create its own narrative — not as a fallback or second-best option, but as a purpose-built pathway tailored for ambitious, well-rounded athletes. It pushes the narrative that Gymnastics is the Sport That Powers all Sports.
The league is aimed at clubs whose gymnasts train up to 10 hours per week. The initiative has grown out of conversations and challenges observed in General gymnastics. Competitions often aren’t engaging, don’t have many clubs attending, are too long, over run and there are often inaccuracies in scoring. Other sports such as swimming and football do a lot better at engaging the participants through leagues and team events, and gymnastics needs to take note. We believe this league provides a modern, sustainable solution to those barriers.
