About the National Gymnastics League (NGL)

The National Gymnastics League is an innovative competition framework designed to modernise and elevate gymnastics across the UK. Combining in-person competitions, remote judging, club-level inclusion, and cutting-edge technology, the NGL makes high-quality competitions more accessible, scalable, and data-driven than anything currently available in British gymnastics.

The Problems in the Industry

Gymnastics competitions today face several structural challenges:

  • Competition quality is low and inconsistent – Every club or region that hosts a competition does it differently. There is no set standards and many have scoring errors.

  • Oversubscribed, length competitions – Competitions can last over 12hours as clubs try and generate as much revenue as possible.

  • Length Journeys – Many families and clubs have to travel up to 4 hours to reach Regional Competitions often staying the night.

  • Inconsistent judging standards – Difficulty recruiting and deploying judges leads to delays, inconsistency, and pressure on volunteers. In some cases clubs can not enter due to mandatory judging requirement.

  • Lack of data and progression tracking – Gymnasts rarely receive personal analytics that drive motivation and improvement. Inconsistencies in judging, routines and rules, mean that it is not possible to measure success over time.

  • Unsustainable event delivery – Clubs shoulder heavy administrative and operational burdens.
